A 31-page study guide produced by the Oregon Holocaust Resource Center, to accompany the performance of a stage adaptation of the novella.
The emphasis in this study guide is very much on the historical context: the rise of fascism and the holocaust. It provides interesting background, and may help you to think about Kressman Taylor's aims and ideas. You will not be rewarded directly for this knowledge in your exam. In your writing, your focus should be on linguistic and literary analysis: the language and structure of the text, and the effects these achieve.
